Cumulus/Youngstown has named vet radio programmer Charley Connolly to the OM post effective tomorrow (4/16). In addition to overseeing the eight station cluster with stations including Country WQXK, K 105; Classic Country WSOM-AM; Classic Hits WWIZ; Classic Rock WYFM, Y- 103 and Top 40 WHOT, Hot 101; Sports WBBW-A, SportsRadio 1240; Sports WLLF, SportsRadio 96.7; and News Talk WPIC-A, Connolly will also program K-105.
VP/Market Manager Bill Kelly said, "We are fortunate to have someone of Charley’s background, especially with Country, available to us in Y'Town. This is gonna be fun."
Connolly was most recently PD at iHeartMedia Country station WGAR/Cleveland for the past nine years. He was also PD at sister Variety Hits WHLK. He left Cleveland in February. He fills the opening created by John Crenshaw who left earlier this year.
Connolly's resume also includes Cumulus' WSM-F and New Talk WWTM/Nashville and KVIL/Dallas.
